Reese is working on sitting up, so we try out all the chairs & couches in the house. She seems to like the living room couch best because she found a pillow that is just her size.

Daddy Time
Daddy took Reese on a walk by himself for the first time today. While I was glad they could spend some time alone together, I got a little nervous when I was called outside to help with the stroller. I found poor little Reese was sitting crooked and Daddy complaining that "you need an engineering degree to use this stroller". Luckily Reese was patient with her Daddy and didn't even cry. We soon got Reese straightened out and Todd calmed down, then they went on their way.

Happy Retirement
Reese and I traveled to Austin to attend Grandma Cipra's retirement party. Grandma Cipra is retiring after 35 years of teaching Kindergarten. Quite an accomplishment! She was also honored by being selected "Teacher of the Year" in the Austin Public School District - well deserved!
Grandma is retiring just in time to take care of Reese on Mondays and Tuesdays when I return to work. This is the perfect arrangement for everyone. Todd and I have the most qualified daycare imaginable, and Grandma has a new job to keep her busy - "Granny Nanny".

Side Sleeper
I think Reese is going to roll over soon; she has been trying the past few days. Then, I found her sleeping on her side this afternoon. Soon after I took this picture, Reese spit out her pacifier through the crib railing, it hit the wall making a loud sound and waking her up, and bounced on the floor to the very middle under her crib. It was quite a sequence of events that ended with a baby crying and m0mmy crawling under the crib to find the "mute button" (aka the pacifier).

Multi-tasker
Moms are amazing multi-taskers. I have learned how to water the flowers, clean the house, cook dinner, fold the laundry, put on make-up, dry my hair, etc... all with Reese in my arms. I'm actually updating the blog right now (typing with one hand) while holding Reese as she naps (she woke up every time I tried putting her down), eating lunch (finally at 5pm) and pumping (sorry, too much information)!

Laura and Lexi
We had a great weekend with our friends Laura and Lexi. They flew in from St. Louis for a fun "little" girls' weekend. Lexi showed Reese what it's like to be 10 months old - how to sit up, eat solids, put herself to sleep, and much more. It was so fun to have them here! We wish they would move to Minnesota so we could hang out all the time!

Crinkle
Video of Reese discovering her frog makes crinkle noises. It's fun to watch her move with purpose!
Jibber Jabber
Reese likes to talk - especially when she first wakes up in the morning and from her naps. She keeps herself entertained for a long time!

Happy Mother's Day
We had a fun Mother's Day weekend. We spent Saturday with the Cipra's at our house for a BBQ and Sunday with the Haag's at the lake. Mommy received a very nice card, picture frame, and flowers for her outside pots.
On Monday, Reese and Mommy went to the nursery to buy more flowers to finish up her pots. Then Reese slept for a few hours (in her crib!) so Mommy could plant the flowers. She is so cooperative!

3 Months Old
Reese is now 3 months old (technically she was 3 months old yesterday). She now weighs 11 lbs and is over 22 inches long. She's up to lots of new things like smiling (although I can never catch her for a picture), looking at her toys (she especially likes to look at doll and animal faces), and sucking on her pacifier (I never thought I would let my kids take a pacifier, but she loves it).
