The Admiral

Reese and I came to Austin tonight and will be spending a few days here. Our good family friend Mike Nelson (aka "The Admiral") was also in town visiting, so he got to meet Reese. As you can see, Reese enjoyed meeting him too!

Family Reunion

We attended the Haag family reunion where Reese got to meet lots of her relatives! She especially liked hanging out with second cousin Ada, the only person younger than her at the party. In the last picture she seems to be saying, "Hey Ada, why don't you come out of that carseat and I'll show you how to sit up like a big girl!"

Carly's Party

Reese put on her party dress and attended her first neighborhood birthday party today. Happy 5th birthday, Carly!

Yard Work

Reese helped with yard work this evening. It was nice working with a little chill in the air. Fall is coming too soon!

Preview

Reese has her 6 month photo session tomorrow. So, we spent the day shopping and trying on clothes. Here's a preview of 2 outfits we chose. Sorry for the poor picture quality. I had to use my camera phone because it was the only thing close to me and Reese wasn't exactly enjoying the fashion show. I can't wait to see the professional photos!

Flag Football

Reese and I went to watch Daddy play his first flag football game of the season. His team folded after a 15+ year legacy, and he pulled a Brett Favre by joining a rival team!

We found out Reese is a football fan because she kept kicking her legs and making noises with each play. Unfortunately the mosquitos were terrible, so we had to watch the second half from the car. Reese wasn't quite as entertained in the car, so we had to pull out toys and move around from seat to seat. She enjoyed sitting in the driver's seat the best.

Little House on the Prairie

I loved watching the TV show "Little House on the Prairie" growing up. So I was very excited to find a little log cabin at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve. Now Reese can pretend to be Laura Ingalls too! She looks cute in the yellow bonnet I wore 25 years ago!

Wedding

We attended the beautiful wedding of Andrea Lorenz and Jeff Holmgren today. Reese enjoyed mingling with people and drinking a bottle while the rest of us drank wine during social hour. She needed a nap during dinner, so Todd and I tagged teamed sitting with her in the car so we both could eat. She woke up in time to watch the pretty lights during the dance, but was still quite sleepy. So, after a quick dance with Daddy we headed home.

She's So Vain

I caught Reese staring and smiling at herself in a mirror today. I don't blame her - she's adorable!

American Idol

Todd and I played American Idol karaoke game on the Wii tonight. Reese was laughing at us as we sang and danced, then she decided to play too.

Luther Ladies Weekend

I survived my first night away from Reese as I attended the annual "Luther Ladies Weekend" at the Have cabin on Gull Lake. While I was off reconnecting with old friends, Daddy and Reese were on their own.

Grandma Haag came over for awhile on Friday. The three of them had fun playing with blocks and going for a swim.

Daddy had Reese by himself at night. She was a very good girl who went to bed at 10pm and didn't wake up until 5am for a bottle, then went right back to sleep.

I got home this afternoon to find Reese well-rested and smiley. She was excited to see me and gave me lots of slobbery kisses when I walked in the door. It was the best!

Toes

Reese has found her toes. For awhile we thought Reese was not flexible enough to reach her toes; we thought she had Daddy's flexibility. But, she has proven us wrong and now sucks on her toes all the time!

Anniversary Dinner

We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary tonight by going out to dinner. It wasn't exactly a romantic dinner since our darling 6-month-old joined us. Reese kept us pretty busy chewing on a cup, reaching for our plates & silverware, and entertaining the people around us.

Good Night Chew

Reese ended her night by chewing on her new Robeez shoes. Yum... tasty!

Swinging Away

Reese showed cousin Jack her cool red swing today. They both had a blast swinging away. I love how Reese holds on tight!

River Days

Reese enjoyed her first Rockford "River Days" community festival. We took advantage of the pancake breakfast, parade, rides, and games with cousins Peyton and Brayden. We then came back to our house so Reese could take a nap and the boys could create a water slide!

I Heart Tags

Reese loves tags - found on her new activity mat, on toys, on my shirt, anywhere. She finds them facinating!

Book Worm

A few cute pictures of Reese reading a book. She gets so excited when we read, she drools all over!

Pool Parties

Reese loves the water! She was first introduced to the pool at a playdate with Baby Katie and some other neighborhood friends. Reese enjoyed it so much that we now have our own pool parties in our backyard.

Happy Half Birthday

Happy half birthday to Reese! I can't believe our baby is already 6 months old! She now weighs 14lbs 12oz and is 25 inches long. It has been a fun, crazy 6 months and we can't wait to see what the next 6 months brings.

Her normal baby-sitters (Grandma Cipra and Heather) had conflicts, so Reese spent the day with Daddy and Grandma Haag while I was at work. I came home to find Reese in an outfit that didn't exactly match, but she was happy and had a great day!
