Ready
Pig tails in, ready for gymnastics class!
Earlier today, Reese said a couple funny things...
She walked into her bedroom and saw Grandma Cipra in her closet hanging up Reese's clothes. Reese said, "Grandma! You have a BIG project!"
They were playing outside and decided to come in the front door which was locked. Reese said, "We should ring the doorbell." Grandma said, "But Libby can't answer the door." Reese responded,"She could TRY!"

New Friends
We had some new friends over for dinner last night. It was an evening full of good food and good conversation. Reese just loved their little girls Mackenzie (10) and Allie (7). Reese especially loved Mackenzie, and Mackenzie was great with Reese. They spent all night learning new tricks in the bounce house, playing catch, racing, and more. I have never seen Reese react to someone this way - she's usually very reserved until she really gets to know people.
At night we said our night-night prayer and Reese said a special prayer for Mackenzie. Reese was so wound up that she stayed up until 2:30am!

Happy 3rd Birthday Libby
We adopted our kitty Libby exactly 1 year ago today. So we celebrated her adoption anniversary and (pretend) 3rd birthday (pretend because we don't really know how old she is or when she was born). Reese did a great job singing Happy Birthday to Libby and diving into her cupcake.
We have had a great first year with Libby. After some scratching and spraying incidents early on, Libby has adjusted to being our cat and seems to really love us. She hangs out with us most of the day, sleeps with Reese at night (at least when Libby is inside), looks us right in the eye when we talk to her, and even gives us hugs! We love you, Libby! We look forward to many more years with you.
Soaked
It has been so hot this weekend that we have spent very little time outside. So we took advantage of a little rain shower, and ran outside to play. Reese decided her Strawberry Shortcake girls needed to take a dip in the fountain to cool off. Reese got soaked with the rain and fountain, but had a great time.
Prayers
Reese said the table prayer perfectly tonight. She said, "Come Lord Jesus be our guest. Let these gifts to us be blessed. Amen."
Then we asked her if she knows the night-night prayer; we had never asked her before. She knew part of it perfectly. She said, "Now I lay her (she said "her" because that's how I say it to her every night) down to sleep, I pray the Lord her soul to keep. Amen. Sleep."
Very good girl!

Tree Hugger
We had a fun girls day out with Grandma Cipra. We went shopping at 2 malls, found some great dresses for an upcoming wedding, and spent a lot of time climbing and hugging trees at the indoor play area.
Reese was so worn out, she fell asleep at 6:45 for the night - approximately 5 hours before she normally goes to sleep!

This Week's Funnies
A few funny things Reese said this week...
We heard a garbage truck outside, and this was our conversation:
Mommy: What is that?
Reese: It might be a cow.
M: I don't think it sounds like a cow.
R: Well, it might be a moose. Let's go see!
We were playing with some stuffed animal dogs. Reese decided to name them "Phil" and "Bill". Where does she come up with these names?
Reese had a little melt down, I don't even remember what it was about. After a few minutes she told me, "I was so sad. I cried like a baby."
We had to take Libby to the vet because she was constantly scratching part of her ear. As the vet was examining Libby, Reese told the vet, "I have a bug in my ear too" and kept scratching her ear. After the appointment, Reese told Libby in the car ride home, "I'm proud of you Libby." So sweet.

Happy Birthday Grandpa
We want to wish Grandpa Cipra a very happy 60th birthday! His birthday was yesterday, but we celebrated together today with a trip to a great place called Pinstripes. We all had fun playing bocce ball, bowling (Reese's first time and she looked adorable in her little bowling shoes), and eating yummy food. The only mishap was Grandpa dropped his cake! Oh well, it still tasted delicious.
Happy birthday, Grandpa!

Moose
Reese has gotten into a really bad habit of waking up about 6 hours after going to bed, saying her tummy hurts, going to the bathroom, and eating a snack in bed for about an hour before going back to sleep. When I ask her why she wakes up, she consistently tells me, "The moose wakes me up, Mommy." We'll I'm going to have to do something about that moose. Wait, what moose?!?!
