Water Playdate

We had a water playdate today with Henry, Correne, Malin, and Britt. It's so hot outside that the kids spent most of the day playing in the sprinkler and pool.

Romeo & Juliet

Reese's current obsession is Romeo and Juliet. We found an animated movie on Netflix called "Romeo & Juliet - Sealed with a Kiss" where the characters are seals, and, luckily, the story ends on a much lighter note than the original.

Today Reese declared that our dining room chair is Juliet and the banister is Romeo. What an imagination! Today we had to carry Juliet (again, the dining room chair) around with us in the house. And before bed, Reese turned to the chair and said, "Goodnight Juliet!".

Gymnastics

Reese enjoyed her very first gymnastics class tonight. There is nothing cuter than 2 year olds in leotards! She was a little tentative during stretching, but came out of her shell on the balance beam, trampoline (no surprise, her favorite), and other equipment.

Father's Day

Reese wants to wish all the great dads out there a Happy Father's Day, including her daddy and grandpas!

The Cipras got together this evening and all wore UnderArmour clothing in honor of Grandpa Cipra's absolute favorite brand. I think we'll have to email this picture to the UnderArmour company and hope for some coupons.

Potty Training Complete

I'm going to declare that potty training is complete (knock on wood). Reese has been doing great. She's only had a few accidents this past week, and that's just when she's distracted with something. She wears her underwear all day long, even when we're out running errands or on playdates. Reese even makes it through the night, but I'm not quite confident enough to take off her overnight diaper yet.

Last night she learned the art of "holding it." We went to a parade in Brooklyn Park with Reese's cousins. Reese said she had to go pee pee, but when we got to the port-a-potty, she said, "I don't like this potty" and refused to go - I can't really blame her. I then decided to take her behind a bush, but she looked at me like I was crazy and said, "I can't go pee pee on the GRASS!" So she held it a half hour, all the way until we got back to Troy and Tammy's house. Very impressive.

Funnies

Here are some funny things Reese has been saying this week...

While Reese was with Heather this week, Carly asked her mom, "What kind of bird is that?" Reese responded, "It's a robin", and she was right. Carly told her, "You're so smart!"

Last night we were watching the movie Tangled, and I told Reese, "We can watch for 5 more minutes, then we're going upstairs to bed. I don't want any crying." Reese turned to me and said, "Well, I'm GOING to cry." At least she's honest.

Awhile ago, Reese came into my bedroom crying uncontrollably. After sobbing on my arms for awhile, she stopped and told me, "I'm not sad anymore." I asked her why she was so sad, and she told me "DADDY BRUSHED MY HAIR!!! " Oh the drama!

Reese seems to have made another jump in her language skills. She's talking in more complete, descriptive sentences. One day we were driving in the car and I turned on her movie. Reese told me "Mom, I can't see it. The screen is all the way down.". Thank you for the perfect explanation so I could easily flip up the screen while driving.

Reese has to correct her daddy with his words sometimes. Two examples (1) Daddy called it a bench, and Reese corrected him to say it is a "Stool" by the side of her bed (2) Daddy asked her to get something out of the frig, and Reese told him "It's a refrigerator."

Dry All Day

Reese continues to do great with potty training. She was dry overnight and stayed dry all day! Way to go, Reese!

Graduation Party

Our neighbors Carly and Elise graduated from kindergarten this week, so we threw them a little graduation party. They were so excited!
