Sick Cookies

Emmy has been sick (sooooooo tired and a fever) for 7 days.  I took her in for a strep test, but it was negative and they think it's just a really bad cold.

She finally perked up a bit today when we decided to make cookies.  I'll have to remember this diet plan to have your sick child help make the batter -- I'll have no issues avoiding this batch.

Blew That One

Emmy was trying to convince me to let her watch the iPad longer last night. I asked her how much longer she thought she should watch. She quickly suggested "3 minutes."  I said, "Ok, 3 minutes, not 3 more shows."  To which she responded, "Oh, well I totally blew that one!  I wanted 3 more shows."

Where has she heard "blew that one"?!?!

3D

Although it doesn't look like it in this picture, Emmy did really enjoy wearing 3D glasses to watch the movie Kung Fu Panda 3.

Daddy Daughter Princess Ball

She said her dress was too uncomfortable to wear in her car seat, so this is how she rode to the ball... in February.  I try to keep them warm and safe... I try.

Green Eggs and Ham

Emmy is all dress up for GREEN Eggs and Ham day at Pre-K!

Glasses

Reese got glasses!  She had been complaining a little about not being able to see things across the room, so we quickly took her in for an eye exam.  I was surprised to find out she does actually need glasses!  Her eyes aren't terrible, but glasses will definitely help her see things at a distance more clearly.

She decided between these two pairs -- opting for the first purple pair.

She's soooooo excited about her new fashion accessory, and even loves her heart case!  I'm happy to report it's been a very smooth transition to glasses and she loves wearing them.

Leeo's Mom

Reese was sooo sad, crying non-stop for 15 minutes last night.  She is sad that Leeo's mom must be so worried about him and that Leeo must miss his Mom.  I told her that animals are different than people and that his mom made sure that Leeo was big and strong enough to go out on his own and find his own family and that she would be proud of him and that she probably found a nice family also, like Libby after she had her babies.  She still seemed worried about Leeo's mom, but calmed down enough to fall asleep.

Head Glue

Oh what a night.  Emmy slipped climbing out of the bath tub tonight and cut open her head.  It stopped bleeding right away, but the nurse suggested we bring her to the ER to get it sealed up -- more for cosmetic reasons than anything.

Of course this all happened late at night - past bedtime.  Heather was nice enough to come stay with Reese until Todd got home from basketball.  Emmy and I headed to the ER and had to wait for 3 hours (ugh!) because they were so busy.

We met another little girl in the waiting room waiting for the exact same reason -- she fell off the couch and cut open her head.  And we discovered Emmy and this girl were born just 2 days apart at the same hospital.  I guess head gashes are common for girls who just turned 4 - ha!

When it was finally our turn just after midnight, the doctor gave me the option of a couple stitches of glue with the same outlook for healing and scarring (should be just a little white line that will fade).  Since Emmy had fallen asleep, I opted for glue since it would be a less painful application.  She slept right through it.  Finally time to head home after a long night.

Bowling
