Frozen Soundtrack

The girls are obsessed with the movie "Frozen" and we cannot wait until it comes out on DVD.  For now we watch clips on You Tube and listen to the soundtrack... a lot...

Multiple videos of the girls singing songs from the movie "Frozen":
  • Click here for both singing and acting out "Do You Want to Build a Snowman".
  • I can't resist, click here for another one of both girls singing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman."
  • Click here for Reese singing "Let it Go".  The girls have the movie soundtrack, but I had no idea she knew all those words!
  • And click here for Reese singing "Let it Go" again with Emmy performing some back-up dance moves.  Love!
  • Finally, click here for yet another one of Reese singing "Let it Go"and really getting into acting out the scene.

Reese is Five

Wow!  Five years old!  Where did the time go?  Happy happy birthday, Reese!  You are growing into such a nice, smart, beautiful girl.  We are so proud of you!

This morning, Reese woke up to streamers leading her way down stairs.

And presents!  Including a shirt from Grandpa Cipra that said, "Girls rule, Boys drool!", Winx dolls, and more.

At night, her first ice cream cake was a hit.

Fears

The girls are currently fearful of a few things...

Emmy

  • Being left at MOPS.  Although she's now been attending since Sept, she cries nearly every time, and for nearly the whole 2 hours.  It breaks my heart.
  • Bugs, snakes, worms.  Whenever she sees one in a book or something that she thinks is a bug, snake, or worm, she jumps back and yells "YUCK!"

Reese
  • The dark
  • Going to the bathroom or upstairs by herself.  She usually requests that Daddy or I go with her, but if we say we are busy, she will even accept Emmy as her protector.
  • Getting arrested.  I just may have used this threat a few times when she complains about putting her seat belt.  I even went so far as to say she will get arrested, they take her to jail, and they don't allow you to bring Lovey.  I feel a little guilty about this, but she very quickly puts on her seat belt.
  • The car wash, as seen in these pictures.  I used to be scared of the car wash too, but that's because Brian used to tell me Dracula's cape was coming over our car.  I'm not sure where Reese's fear came from.

Field Trip

I was doing so well after my lasik eye surgery yesterday, that I got to chaperon Reese's field trip this morning.  We had fun exploring and learning at the Bell History Museum.

The eagles!

I was surprised Reese was so scared of this snake!  She scooted away!

Mrs. Gaffer is so silly.

Mommy's Birthday

Happy birthday to Mommy.  I celebrated by treating myself to Lasik eye surgery.  It went very well -- super simple, no pain, and I saw well soon after.  I definitely recommend Whiting Clinic to anyone who is considering the procedure.

Thanks for the beautiful banner, girls!  And thanks for the yummy dinner and cake, Grandma Cipra!

Smooch

A kiss for Daddy.  Every night before bed, or any time before someone leaves the house, Emmy yells, "KISS AND HUG!" and runs to give a big smooch and squeeze.

Minute

Two of Emmy's favorite phrases right now are, "One more minute" (when she wants to do something a bit longer) and "Any minute" (said quite frequently, and usually to make us all laugh).

First Haircut

Emmy's hair was getting a little straggly, so it was time for her first hair cut.  She did great!  She stepped right up, asked for a sucker, and sat super still during the cut and blow dry.  What a difference from Reese's first hair cut where she clung to me and cried.  The hairdresser agreed Emmy was one of the most calm 1st clients she has ever had.  Good job, big girl!

Smash

If our lovely new cat Leeo would not have managed to get himself locked in a neighbor's garage last night, then I would not have had to go rescue him and could have left for work earlier today... and therefore not ended up in front of a pick-up truck with a huge grill on the front that rear-ended me and smashed in our new van.  Fun times.

Update: $5000 later (luckily all covered by the other guy's insurance), we have our van back and normal.

Toy Giveaway

I was so proud of the girls for going through their toys and picking out enough to fill a huge bin to giveaway.  Reese said things like, "I like that stuffed monkey, but I think someone else will like it even more than me."

Thanks to our friend Katie for taking the toys to a school with many low-income families.  I' m sure the toys found new loving homes.
