Eye Goop & Field Trip

It is much anticipated field trip day, but Reese woke up with a goopie eye.  So off we went to the doctor to make sure it isn't Pink Eye.  The doctor isn't sure if it's Pink Eye because it's not overly red and not itchy.  But she prescribed some drops just in case to help clear up whatever this is -- the very early stages of Pink Eye, seasonal allergies, or just a cold that's coming out her eyes.

Then we met her class (along with the Pre-K and 1st Grade classes too) at the Hanover Fire Station for the field trip.  The fire fighters did a great job talking to the kids about how to prevent fires and what to do if there is a fire in their house.

Instead of going back to school and risk infecting her classmates, Reese and I went home for the rest of the day.  Reese was VERY upset and told me, "This is the worst day of my life because I can't go to school."  The ability to return to school tomorrow is her motivation to put in her eye drops every 4 hours.  She asked me to print off some worksheets so she could so some schoolwork, and she did a huge stack for multiple hours.  She might be the only child in history to do MORE schoolwork when home sick than she would have in school.  Our crazy, studious girl.
