Immune

Reese, Emmy, Laura and Katie were playing in the sprinkler today.  Laura said, “I think there is something wrong with this water, my hands are white!” Reese and Katie looked at their hands and screamed!  Emmy immediately looked at her hands and said, “My hands are not white and I have been in the sprinkler longer than you guys.” Then she yelled, “ I’m IMMUNE!!!!”

My jaw hit the floor because I had no idea how Emmy knew that word, and was shocked she used it properly.  I asked her how she knew that word and she told me, “It was on the Lion Guard.”  So, now I’m convinced screen times makes them smarter.

She Has Done It

Emmy was in a serious competition (with herself) on the slip 'n slide today.  This video shows her fiery personality perfect.  My favorite line is "SHE HAS DONE IT!!!!"

National Anthem

Reese, and her entire school (K-8th), got to sing the National Anthem at the Twins game today!  It was a super fun experience for the kids... and the parents.

Walking to the game.  Each 1st Grader held hands with a 6th Grader for safety.

A little practice behind the scenes -- and TC Bear helped direct!

Then they walked on the field (click here for a video walking on), and the players gave them a wave.

Their performance was great!  Click here for a video of the National Anthem.  And, click here for the official audio by the Twins.

All the parents were so proud!  Click here for a video walking off - don't mind my waving to the kids at the end.

Then we sat together as a school and enjoyed the game.  Some great memories were made today!

Emmy conked out in the 7th inning.

Yippie Ki-Yay!

Yippie Ki-Yay!  The students did a great job at their Western-themed concert and musical!

Emmy's Pre-K class sang 4 songs and finger plays.

Click here for a video of Emmy's "Way Out West" song.

I'll try to lighten these pictures soon...

Reese's class (along with the Kindergarten and 2nd Graders) performed two songs.
  • Click here for the Funky Cowboy line dance (Reese stands up with the 2nd group and is in the middle)
  • Click here for the cowboy song (Reese is in the middle)

Snacks at intermission during the 5-8th Graders performance of "Tumbleweeds".

This is the true definition of skinny jeans.  Give this girl a doughnut.

Emmy loves her cowgirl boots and hasn't taken them off since the play.  Click here for a video of Emmy doing her version of the Funky Cowboy dance at home.

ECFE

Emmy is really enjoying our ECFE class on Wednesdays.  She is by far the oldest child there, but likes to be the leader.

Homework

Reese is doing such a great job with her reading.  Homework is more fun when Emmy can listen to the stories too.

Finally

Emmy's head glue FINALLY came off.  They said it would fall off after about a week, but we must have been super careful with it because it lasted 3 weeks.  And I'll admit, I started picking it off.  The wound is looking pretty good!

Hoopin' It Up

Hoopin' it up in 70 degree weather (!!) and cowgirl boots.
