Hot Tub

And so it begins... Reese invited a boy into the hot tub.  At least for now, she let her mom and little sister be in the hot tub too.

Reese and Logan had fun playing together all day long. They were in and out of the hot tub, pool, swing set, riding scooters, cars, and more.  A fun, busy day outside, and now Reese is exhausted.

Pedicures

Time for a little pedicure pampering!

Emmy enjoyed soaking her feet, until she started spalshing everywhere!

Oops, I didn't realize Emmy grabbed a piece of chocolate at the nail place.  I'm not sure she got any into her mouth.

Beach

While Reese was at tumbling camp today, Emmy and I decided to go to the beach.

We ate breakfast on a blanket while listening to the water.  It was so relaxing and we both sat there in silence for 15 minutes.

Then Emmy hung out (literally) on the playground.  Big girl!

Princess Courage Camp

Reese had a wonderful time at her Princess Courage Tumbling Camp this week.  They tumbled, made crafts, played outside, and ate snacks.  She could not wait to go back every day.  Thanks to Coach Tammi for taking these pictures.

Backfire

My plan backfired on me today.  After ECFE I had this idea that we were going to eat at Perkins then Emmy would nap in the car while Reese played at a park until it was time for Daddy's softball game.  Well, Emmy was not interested in napping, so we all played at 3 parks in the hot hot sun.

It was finally time for Daddy's softball game, and Emmy crashed.  Look at her poor skinned knees from playing so hard!

Reese had a lot of fun playing with Lyla during the softball game.  And I chatted with Sienna while she lounged around.

ECFE

We are enjoying our summer ECFE class.  Emmy doesn't even cry when it's time for moms and kids separate in class.  She loves it... and I'm guessing it helps that her big sister is right by her side.

Exhausted and Not

Reese's very busy two weeks finally caught up with her.  She fell asleep in the chair at 7pm, never even stirred when we moved her upstairs, and continued to sleep for 13 hours.

Emmy, on the other hand, was not exhausted last night.  She wanted to play dress up... in Christmas outfits.

Relax at the Lake

We went to the lake for what we thought was going to be a relaxing day.  But they had a huge storm last night so we spent most of the day picking up sticks.  What a job!

Of course the girls still relaxed.  They love it at the lake!

Emmy put safety first by putting on two sunhats.  Good girl!

Swimming Success

Reese went to a swim camp the past 2 weeks.  She has taken swimming lessons in the past, but without much success because she would get nervous every week.  So we thought we would try a camp where you go 4 days in a row for 2 weeks.  Well, it worked!  Reese did fantastic and made amazing progress every day!

Our first success was simply wearing goggles.  Reese is super sensitive to anything tight, so I thought there was no way she would wear goggles.  But, I guess the power of peer pressure got to her when she saw everyone else wearing goggles and put them on without any fuss.  She actually loves the goggles and wears them in the bathtub at home.

The first day Reese wouldn't even put her face in the water.  But by week two she was putting her face in consistently for 7 seconds at a time.  She was also jumping off the side of the pool without the safety of a noodle.  Who is this brave girl!?!?

Reese's teacher was Robin who was super nice, and has a little girl named Reese too. Her class consisted of Reese and two "lively" boys. At first I thought she would be intimidated by the boys, but I think the boys actually helped and pushed her to make progress. She would watch what they did, then want to do the same thing. Reese even told the teacher, "No, I don't need a floatie, I want to do it myself."

The teachers evaluated her skills on Tuesday, but she hadn't mastered the backfloat yet so we were told she would have to take the class/camp "Littles 1" again.  However, her teacher saw her making so much progress that she had her re-evaluated just two days later and she passed!  We are so proud!  Keep up the great work, Reese!

Movie Night

We enjoyed the evening celebrating the General Mills Employee Club's 40th anniversary.  This is near and dear to my heart since I used to run the Employee Club.  Over 2000 people came to TCF Stadium (the new Gopher football stadium) where they had bounce houses and showed the movie "Despicable Me" on the big screen.

After the movie, the girls had fun running around the field.  Most of the girls pretended to be cheerleaders, but Reese could not be bothered with cheering as she was chasing her daddy into the end zone.
