Trick-or-Treat

Time to trick-or-treat!

Sour Candy

This is how my conversation went with Emmy this afternoon.  All said by Emmy...

"Mom, I just want to hold the candy.  I will NOOOOOOT open it."

"Well, let's just open it.  I WOOOOOON'T eat it!"

"Well, maybe just one bite.  Just ONE!"

"It's yummy.  It is NOOOOOOT sour!"  And click here for a video of the sour reaction.

"Mom, just look the other way."

"Oops, I ate another one."

Before and After

Before school... all ready for Halloween with her bottom baby tooth in tact.

After school...  bottom baby tooth is gone and she has no idea how/when she lost it.   She now calls the space in her mouth her "garage door".

Painting Complete

Love, love, love it!  These pictures don't do it justice.

Dance Class

Halloween party at dance class!

Painting Progress

Amazing progress on the mural today.  The basket and ropes add the vintage/old world style we're going for.  LOVE!  And there is much more to come.

Carving Concentration

Deep concentration and focus while Reese carved her pumpkin.

No, she wasn't trying to make the same face as the pumpkin, it was just heavy.

Painting Started

My very talented 3rd cousin, Chandler, has started the mural in Emmy's room, just as he painted Reese's mural 4 years ago.  We're so excited!  It's already looking amazing.

The girls loved watching Chandler paint, then decided to do some painting of their own.

Bob Haircut

Emmy has been BEGGING to get her hair cut lately, I think mostly because she gets a sucker at Kids' Hair.   Her hair has really been filling in, so we could do an actual style this time -- an adorable stacked bob.  No surprise, we received 3 compliments at the grocery store this afternoon.

Back Massages

Everybody line up for after school back massages.

Tooth #2

I have no idea how this tooth has not fallen out... and Reese refuses to wiggle or twist it.  Almost time for the Tooth Fairy to come again.

Funnies

Whenever Emmy wants to play on my phone or iPad, she asks me, "What is the passage word" (instead of the password).  It's too cute, so I don't correct her.

Reese has been obsessed with spelling lately.  Today she very proudly told me, "I know how to spell DVD.  D. V. D."  Well, it's true, so I did my very best not to laugh.

Emmy's vocabulary has been expanding lately, especially from playing the Halloween version of Spot It.  Some new words include dungeon, bloody hand, skeleton, and potion.

Bath Time

The girls LOVE bath time, and usually play together so well.  It's not out-of-the-norm to stay in the bath for an hour.

Turkey Project

Reese was assigned a turkey homework project.  She was given a piece of paper with a turkey head and feet, and instructions saying we should create a turkey together as a family and return to school.  Well, I admit, our turkey got a little out of control... especially when we pulled out the power tools.  I hope Mrs. Schutte wasn't planning on hanging these turkeys up on the wall.

Fun Friday

We had a fun Friday.  Reese was off to school while Emmy and I went to MOPS.  Today, the kids made joyful noise to the Lord with microphones and saxophones.  They were a big hit.  Emmy continues to do great at MOPS and separates without any trouble.

It was SO nice outside (67 degrees) that Emmy and I decided to skip cleaning up the house and headed to the park instead.

We picked Reese up from school and came home to get ready for our evening party -- a pot luck and park/gym night at school.

I took this picture just as Reese's hoop dropped after hula hooping for a minute straight.  She's a good little hula girl.

Document It

Reese doesn't let me do anything with her hair very often, so when she does, I have to document it.  It looks so cute!

Poo Peck Art

For those not familiar, the term "poo peck' means belly button.  Grandpa Cipra is known at our house as "Poo Peck Man" because he always gets the girls' poo pecks.  So tonight, we present just for him, some Poo Peck Art.
