Field Trip

I was doing so well after my lasik eye surgery yesterday, that I got to chaperon Reese's field trip this morning.  We had fun exploring and learning at the Bell History Museum.

Mommy's Birthday

Happy birthday to Mommy.  I celebrated by treating myself to Lasik eye surgery.  It went very well -- super simple, no pain, and I saw well soon after.  I definitely recommend Whiting Clinic to anyone who is considering the procedure.

Smooch

A kiss for Daddy.  Every night before bed, or any time before someone leaves the house, Emmy yells, "KISS AND HUG!" and runs to give a big smooch and squeeze.

Minute

Two of Emmy's favorite phrases right now are, "One more minute" (when she wants to do something a bit longer) and "Any minute" (said quite frequently, and usually to make us all laugh).

First Haircut

Emmy's hair was getting a little straggly, so it was time for her first hair cut.  She did great!  She stepped right up, asked for a sucker, and sat super still during the cut and blow dry.  What a difference from Reese's first hair cut where she clung to me and cried.  The hairdresser agreed Emmy was one of the most calm 1st clients she has ever had.  Good job, big girl!

Smash

If our lovely new cat Leeo would not have managed to get himself locked in a neighbor's garage last night, then I would not have had to go rescue him and could have left for work earlier today... and therefore not ended up in front of a pick-up truck with a huge grill on the front that rear-ended me and smashed in our new van.  Fun times.

Update: $5000 later (luckily all covered by the other guy's insurance), we have our van back and normal.

Toy Giveaway

I was so proud of the girls for going through their toys and picking out enough to fill a huge bin to giveaway.  Reese said things like, "I like that stuffed monkey, but I think someone else will like it even more than me."

Thanks to our friend Katie for taking the toys to a school with many low-income families.  I' m sure the toys found new loving homes.

Snowman

"Do you want to build a snowman?  Come on let's go an play..."

Ice Cream

The frigid temperatures do not deter the girls from ordering ice cream.  When Emmy got this cone today she said, "Biiiiig one!"

And then attacked it!

Blue Eye Shadow

There was blue gel eye shadow EVERYWHERE... including the garbage can when they were done and not looking.

Emmy's Birthday Bow-tique

Happy birthday party, Emmy!  It was a wonderful day celebrating our little big girl.

We have a very fun Minnie Mouse-themed birthday party called "Emmy's Birthday Bow-tique". The girls got to pick out two hair bows and the boys each got a bow tie.  Of course I intended to get a picture of all the kids wearing their bows, but no such luck.

Time to eat!

 

Tracy made another amazing cake -- this time polka dot Minnie Mouse.  Emmy LOVED it!

The kids raced stuffed animals through Minnie's Pet Salon.

They played pin the flower on Minnie.

And made Minnie or Mickey Mouse place mats, thanks to Grandma Cipra.

Emmy received so many nice gifts from her friends and family, and had a lot of help from her sister opening her presents.

Potty Training

Emmy is doing a great job potty training.  It helps to have lots of encouragement from her big sister... and (half) a Tootsie Roll as a reward!
