Daddy 'n Me

Reese loves her daddy. They had lots of fun playing together tonight. They even figured out a new way to go down her slide -- and thankfully avoided injuries.

Their conversations were funny too. Here's one conversation I overheard...
Daddy: "Reese, will you get me a drink?"
Reese: "I suppose I can."
Reese walked into the kitchen, turned around and asked him: "Do you want water? Ok!"

In the Action

Libby always loves to be right next to us, in the action. Here she is inside a bag when we returned from shopping. Reese thinks Libby is so funny!

Obsessions

Reese goes through phases where she is obsessed with something. When she's in this phase, she doesn't want to do anything or talk about anything except her current obsession. Here's a list of all the things she's been obsessed with over the past months...

* Slides - going down the slide herself, and putting absolutly everything down slides like balls, dolls, etc
* After watching "Shrek movie", she became obsessed with Fiona
* Pluto - she used to say "He's a wonder dog!"
* After watching Finding Nemo movie, she became obsessed with Dory
* After watching "Shark Tale" movie, she loved whales
* And currently, she's obsessed with reinacting a "Strawberry Shortcake" movie about a big rock

I wonder what will come next.

Happy 7th Birthday, Jack! We had so much fun at your party!

Photo Shoot

We had Reese's 2-year pictures taken today. It took a little convincing, and Reese didn't give Erika much time, but Erika caught some cute shots. Here's a quick preview.

After pictures, we stayed to play and eat lunch. Reese loved Audra's purple room and she got to hold baby Norah. It was a fun morning.

Bryan & Ashly

We had fun playing games with Bryan and Ashly tonight. Reese loves them - and Libby loves all the attention Bryan gives her.

Cake

Reese had fun at Heather's house today. It was a snow day (yes, on March 23rd!!), so both Carly and Ellie were home to play all day. The girls had fun making and eating a cake - yum!

Ellie and Reese also pretended to adopt a baby from China, after watching an "Arthur" episode with a similar theme. Heather told me they pretended upstairs was China and they "traveled" back and forth all day with their doll Becca. So grown up!

Cabelas

Cute picture of Reese riding a bear at Cabelas. She told me, "He was scary!" then said, "No, sharks are scary!"

Maisy

Reese loves the book "Maisy Drives the Bus", so today Grandma Cipra made cut outs of all the characters from the book - Maisy, Little Black Cat, Tallulah the duck, and Eddie the elephant. Reese played with them so much that we had to keep pulling out the scotch tape to repair their "injuries."

Girl Cousins

Troy, Tammy, Brayden, and Aubrey came over this evening. Reese just LOVES Aubrey. She gave her hugs and kisses all night and kept saying "She likes me!"

Funny Girl

A couple funny things Reese has said lately...

One evening she was singing...
"Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full.
One for the monster, one for the day.
One for the little girl who lives down the lane."

Last Sunday I asked Reese if she wanted to go to church...
Reese: "Church? Yeah!!! SNACKS!!!"
Mommy: "Yes, you can have snacks in church."
R: "Nillas?"
M: "Yes"
R: "Goldfish?"
M: "Yes"
R: "How about pancakes?"
M: "I don't think pancakes will transport to church very well."
R: "Ok"

Place Your Order

We went out to dinner tonight and Reese placed her own order. The waitress asked, "What would you like?" and Reese got a huge grin on her face and responded, "Chicken!"

After we ate, Reese was looking at a book and told the waitress, "I have to show you this whale. Nemo and Dory are inside!" The waitress laughed and laughed.

March Madness

Daddy is home on vacation to watch March Madness. Reese has enjoyed watching with him and reinacting some moves outside.

No Luck Yet

Reese is advanced in many things, but potty training is not one of them. We have been gently encouraging her for awhile - we talk about going potty, bought her big girl underware with Nemo (one of her favorite characters) on them, have a princess potty upstairs, a Dora potty on the main floor, and read a book she enjoys about going to the potty. But, no luck yet. We are trying to be patient, but really wish we could stop buying diapers!

Frosting

Reese really enjoyed eating frosting today at Heather's house. I guess she started eating it with her hands, but said they got too sticky, so decided to put her head down and lick it instead. Good problem solving skills!

The Cipras

Reese enjoyed a few days with Cipra clan. Jack is on spring break this week, so they came over to play. Despite the look on the kids' faces in this picture, they had a lot of fun together.

Pickles, Tomatoes & Onions

We went out to lunch today and Reese passed on her cheeseburger and fries for pickles, tomatoes, and raw onions. I could not help but cringe while she ate them. Funny girl!

Trip to See Tony

The Ibuprofen and ice did not help Daddy last night, and he's in a lot of pain. So we all took a trip to our friend Tony's office for an ankle x-ray and evaluation. We found out that his ankle is not broken, however the x-ray revealed a bad fracture sometime in the past that was never treated. This just re-confirmed to me that we'll have to hire a nurse to help Daddy around the house as he gets older. Ugh!

Reese is very concerned about Daddy's ankle and frequently asks, "Is your ankle ok?" When Tony was done examining him, Reese said "He fixed it!" We explained that it's not fixed yet and Reese said sadly, "It will take a little while."

Basketball Fan

Reese enjoyed watching Daddy play in his basketball league tonight. She sat in the bleachers, waved, and said "Hi Daddy!" over and over. Reese also met a new friend named Clara. The girls did a great job playing catch together.

Too bad Daddy hurt his fungers and ankle while playing. His injuries call for some Ibuprofen and ice tonight.

Jack's Concert

We enjoyed Jack's first grade concert this evening. Jack did a great job singing, playing an instrument, and said his speaking part perfectly. Way to go, Jack! He even kept checking his slicked hair throughout the concert to make sure it was still in place. He looked good!

After the concert, we went out to eat. Since Reese had been sitting so well for so long (the car ride and at the concert), we let her bring in her video to dinner. We appropriately watched "Finding Nemo" at Red Lobster.

As we were leaving, Reese told Grandma Cipra "See you on Sunday!" and told Grandpa Cipra, "Thanks for playing with us!" So sweet!

Poodle Party

Happy 2nd birthday to neighbor Katie! We had so much fun at her poodle party decorating cookies, making necklaces, and eating lots of food including a yummy pink poodle cake.

Fish Tales

We enjoyed a play at our church this evening. It was called "Fish Tales" and the kids did a great job with their first-ever musical. Reese watched and listened intently. At one point, the pre-kindergarteners sang the "Slippery Fish" song that talks about the fish, octopus, tuna fish, great white shark, and humongous whale. When the song ended, Reese yelled, "What about manta ray?!?!" Ha!

Tea Party

Reese had more fun with Grandma and Grandpa Haag today while I had to go into work. The 3 (orI should say 4 with kitty Libby) had a great time playing tea party and more!

Daddy Dance

Reese has been very into dancing lately. Tonight she said, "Daddy, you dance with me!" and Daddy was happy to accommodate that request. They even learned how to "dip"!

Swim Date

We had a fun "swim date" with friends Mac, Brielle, and Mechelle. The kids spent some time in the water throwing a ball, going down a slide (Reese went all by herself!), and just splashing around. Then we spent an equal amount of time in the snack area eating hot dogs, pretzels, and ice cream sandwiches. Swimming really makes you hungry!

Favorite Activity

Just a few cute pictures of Reese enjoying one of her favorite activities -- reading. She'll sit and read her books for almost an hour by herself. She flips the pages and tells the stories with amazing accuracy.

Ink Blot Test

Todd showed Reese these cards, and called it her ink blot test. Without any prompting, Reese described the images as follows (from L to R):
- Piano
- Jumping rope
- Circles - PURPLE!! (because her favorite color is purple)
- Bean bag chair
- Triangle and circles

We were pretty impressed that she came up with something to describe each picture.
