Freezie

Emmy is obsessed with freezies.  She walks to the freezer multiple times a day and yells "FREEZIE!"  She gets to select which color she wants to eat -- at least this is helping her learn her colors.  She usually chooses orange or red, and we know we have to leave all the green for Reese.

Cold Springs

We had a fun day with the Haag family at the Cold Spring community festival.

Emmy survived the bounce house with the big boys, but did not survive the sidewalk (she tripped and got a huge goose egg on her head and bloody lip) or the bathroom door (was opened up quickly while she was standing behind it and got a huge bruise on her foot).  Poor girl!  It was a rough day.

Reese pet some exotic animals, including this one from Africa. 

We rode a car that looked like and sounded like a train.

When we returned to Grandpa & Grandma Haag's house, the kids relaxed by watching Scooby Doo.

Dora Exhibit

We enjoyed the Children's Museum today, including a great interactive Dora the Explorer exhibit.

 

And after all that, Emmy conked out.

 

Beach

Reese has turned into a little fish, and wants to go swimming every day.  Today we went to the beach with friends.  The big girls swam for hours, and we were glad we brought Todd along to keep them entertained swimming under noodles and more. 

Emmy swam too, but also enjoyed a lot of dancing on the beach. Cutie pie!

Swim Camp #2

Reese made so much progress in her last swim camp, that we decided to sign her up for "Littles 2" camp just a few weeks later. 

Well, she did great again!  Reese went from being scared to put her face in the water at the beginning of the first camp, to, 6 weeks later, swimming on her own.  She seriously swims about 10 yards all on her own (no floatie), and could probably go farther, but she gets nervous.  Click here for a video of our little fish.

We're so proud of her!  Reese passed "Littles 2" and is ready for "Littles 3".

ECFE Ends

We had our last day of ECFE class today.  We were sorry to see it come to an end -- we all had a wonderful time in class this summer.

Outdoor Girls

The girls love to be outdoors, and were so sweet to each other at the park today.  These pictures make my heart melt.  LOVE!

Pinterest Play Date

My Luther friends got together today for a "Pinterest play date", meaning we all came with an activity or recipe found on Pinterest.  Reese, Emmy, Conner, Kylie, Abbey, Liam, Soren, Cade & Audrey all had a great time.

The kids were busy digging/chipping the ice to find buried treasures.

And we got to meet sweet Marit!  I love how she's looking at her mommy in this picture.

Golf Cake

Happy birthday to Grandpa Cipra!  I'm so proud of the golf cake we made for you.

Bat Story

Reese asked me one day, "Mom, are you scared of anything?"  I thought for a minute and told her I was scared of bats.  She went on to tell me, "One time at preschool we saved a bat in the gym.  It was alive!!!  A boy named Isaac helped us, but we call him Logan."  Hmmmmm, not sure how much of that story is accurate.

Water Bouncer

We had a fun 4th of July at the lake.  We went to a parade, ate yummy brownie smores, and played hard.  The kids jumped on the new water bouncer for 6 hours -- and we had to drag them off when it got dark outside. 

 

 

Four

I was proud of myself for taking care of all 4 kids alone tonight while Todd and Troy went to play basketball.  The cousins had fun together!

Music Video

Reese asked us to video tape her music video to her latest original song, "I Feel It Now".  And Emmy was her back-up singer and dancer.
