Hugh Acheson
Was a fun day at work, including a visit from celebrity chef Hugh Acheson. Hugh came to speak to our team about his new cookbook called "The Broad Fork", which includes recipes for all the vegetables you receive from a CSA.
Then the girls enjoyed the leftovers. They thought these were the best carrots they have ever tasted, and they probably were.

Family Meeting
We occasionally call a "family meeting", and the girls always put their chairs on top of the couch for the discussion. The purpose of the family meeting is usually to discuss an on-going behavior concern or simply plans for the weekend. Especially when we are dealing with a behavior concern, we usually kick off the meeting by going in a circle and saying one nice thing about everyone in the family, including Leeo and Libby. The girls LOVE this and often request we go around the circle 4 or 5 times spreading the love.
I'm certainly not claiming the family meeting concept eliminates bad behavior, but it does help us all come together and level-set to have a fresh start.

Raspberry Off-Site
I invited my Food Insights + Content team to my house for an off-site meeting. Along the way, we stopped at Knapton's Farm to pick some raspberries then made them into two delicious recipes to enjoy during our meeting.
The raspberry salsa was good, but we all agreed we might not make it again.
Yummy raspberry and nectarine pastry, which Todd gobbled all up after the ladies left.
Billy Todd
Todd's tooth adventures continue. After multiple trips to the dentist and oral surgeon, they had to remove the tooth and will put in an implant. $$$$$$$$$ :(
In the meantime, just call him "Billy Todd".

Soccer Fun
I was hesitant to sign Reese up to play soccer because she wasn't sure if she wanted to or not. She played 2 years ago and did not enjoy, so we took last year off. But, I'm happy to report the first practice went well and she had a lot of fun. I'm sure it helped that I called and requested to be on the same team as her friend Tessa, and she got lucky with a great coach, Josh. Bring on the soccer fun!
After practice, time for a little fun at the park.

Warts and Sores
Not a great day at our doctor visit. As a follow-up from Reese's hearing check a few weeks ago, she had to have two warts treated. She was not happy, and she really lost it when we said we probably have to come back for another treatment. This girl really cannot handle pain.
Emmy developed some mouth sores yesterday, and they remain a mystery. The doctor (and even another doctor was called in to consult) does not know what they are -- canker sores, a reaction to the flouride at the dentist last week, or simply trauma from biting her cheek. She's now on a prescription to bring down the inflammation so does not bite it while it's healing. There is a large sore on the left side and small sore on the right -- both just on the inside of the mouth where your top and bottom lip come together. Very strange, but she's handling it well.

Rodeo
Night at the rodeo, including free pony rides and lots of entertainment.
And, this was a great excuse to wear cowboy boots.
