And, this was a great excuse to wear cowboy boots.

Tooth Troubles
Reese and Emmy went to the dentist yesterday. The second I mentioned the dentist (I waited until that morning because I knew it would cause drama), Reese started crying about the fluoride treatment and she didn't stop worrying/crying about it until after it was over.
Both girls had good check-ups, but Emmy is supposed to start eating a piece of apple or vegetable after every meal and snack to help get anything that might be stuck out of her teeth.
In other tooth troubles... Todd had his tooth knocked loose playing basketball this morning. He pushed it back in place and is just monitoring it over the weekend before he goes to the dentist on Monday morning. I'm trying to be sympathetic, but I really don't think it was worth going after the loose ball in a pick-up basketball game.

Toy Organizer
The girls were excited when Todd set up their ocean scene. Todd has taken over the role of toy organizer and rotater, which he claims is "the hardest job in the house."
Animal Hero
She's an animal hero! I finally got around to emailing the Animal Humane Society and making the donation from Reese's school small business day last fall. They found the story so cute that they posted on their Facebook page. Over 400 likes, 18 shares, and 22 comments (mostly from people we don't even know). I have a feeling this will not be the last time Reese is "famous" for her contributions to animals.

Bunch Family
I love this family! It was so great to spend time with them (minus losing Reese at Nickelodeon Universe -- the scariest 5 minutes of my life).
It was so great to see how well Lexi is doing... what an amazing little girl!
The kids had so much fun together... and a hard time calming down before bed.

Office Makeover
I'm back with the Food Insights + Content team for my next work project. I love this team, but we're stuck in a pretty uninspiring space in the land of cubicles. So, I decided to give our space a little makeover.
I even had help from these little ladies, and Ellie suggested I put up a picture of her too since, "I'm kind-of like part of your family." So now I'll look up from my computer and see Ellie and Mister, too.
Before...
After...(this will look better once facilities takes down some panels)...

Things I learned doing this office makeover...
- Outdoor fabric hangs much better than regular or even upholstery fabric
- I like to measure just once, then cut -- I thought I was more of a perfectionist than this
- I have worked at General Mills for 13 years, and have no idea why I have not done this before. It truly transformed the look and feel of the space

Happy Fourth!
Happy Fourth of July! We spent the day at the Delano parade, where we scored an amazing spot in the shade when we arrived 30 minutes late and ran into the girls' friends Bode and Cora. This is amazing because Delano hosts one of the largest parades in Minnesota and people save their seats days in advance.
Then we took Emmy home to rest, and came back to hit up some rides and won big at the Bingo tent! We won $30.50 in just our 2nd game played by hitting the 4 corners -- the ONLY 4 numbers we got on that winning card.

Although Reese thought winning Bingo was fun, she enjoyed the Frisbee dog show and dog HUGS even more.
The "adopt me" sign and look on her face are killing me!
At night, we headed to the Simonson's house for a yummy BBQ and lots of sparklers. Both Reese and Emmy were scared of the sparklers at first, started to enjoy them, then both ended the night with burns. Darn it!
For future reference... idea for a Bingo event at school. Set up tables in square, charge same as on this sign, and ask Delano if can borrow their cards/supplies -- call Joe 763-972-2989.

Reading in the Park
I have said it before, and I'll say it again, we are sooooo lucky to have Heather watch the girls once or twice a week. Reese and Emmy get much more excited when it's "Heather day" than "Mommy-at-home day".
On Thursdays, they often head to "Reading in the Park" for story time, a craft, and some sort of adventure. This week's theme was construction work.
