No Joke

Although it's April Fool's Day, this is no joke -- this will be the longest blog post I have ever done.  Not exactly sure why I got so far behind.  We've been busy, but no busier than normal.  Here's a recap of our activities for the last 10+ days.

Baby Lorenz
We were thrilled to find out our friends Bryan and Ashly are expecting a baby.  We recently had them over for dinner to celebrate.  Reese and I made our first ever layer cake for the occasion -- a pink layer and a blue layer.  We had everyone eat the color corresponding to their guess on the baby's gender.  For the record: Bryan & Ashly both ate blue, Todd & I both ate pink, and Reese ate pink but said she thinks it will be a boy (and later told me it's going to be a "brother" -- I hope they are very close like a brother/sister relationship!).  So, it was an exact tie for the gender predictions!  Now we just have to wait until September to find out.  Ugh, the anticipation is going to kill me!  Congratulations you guys!  So excited for you!

Happy 8th Birthday, Jack
I can't believe my nephew is already 8 years old!  We had a fun time at his party at Grand Slam in Burnsville.  This place is all boy -- batting cages, bumper cars, arcade games, laser tag, and more.

Reese was thrilled to find a gigantic room full of trampolines!  She jumped ALL afternoon.  I seriously don't know how her little legs could handle it. She was sweaty and exhausted, but kept jumping and jumping.

I was so proud of her when she built up her courage to stand in line with the big kids and jump into the foam pit.

There was no jumping for Emmy this year, but just wait another year!

After playing, it was time for food and presents.  The boys seemed more interested in the presents, while the girls more interested in the cake.  What is it with boys and their toys and girls and their chocolate?  It starts at an early age!

Dying Eggs
We had fun dying Easter eggs.  We dyed some last year, but Reese was much more into it this year.  She picked out all the colors, wraps, and stickers.  She was so disappointed when we were finished.

Baby Wings
Thanks to our friend Lily for the adorable baby wings for Emmy!  Sooooo cute!

EGGstravaganza
We had a great time at the Hanson's 1st Annual EGGstravaganza.  Reese was pumped up and ready to hunt for eggs.  She quickly found her 12 and another 12 for her sleepy sister Emmy.

Here's the attempted group shot of the kids.  Not bad -- we got 12 of the 22 kids under 5 years old!

The party was perfectly planned and executed.  I expected nothing less from Greta.  :)  I loved their food table complete with Peanut "Bunny" and Jelly Sandwiches, Cotton Tails (cotton candy bites), bird nests made out of chocolate, rabbit food, etc.  Cute, cute, cute!  Can't wait for next year!
