Still No Joke

Another long blog post as I try to catch up.

Funnies
Here are a few funny things Reese has said lately...

While looking at an old "Successories" desk accessory Todd brought home, Reese tells me, "Look!  It's like a puzzle!  It's exceptional!  Daddy must have made it!"

While running around one night trying to avoid going to bed, we had this conversation...
Reese: "Keep your eyes on the bones."
Daddy: "You mean keep your eye on the ball."
R: "No, keep your eye on my bones while I run around!" (pointing to her body)

When I ask her to do something she doesn't want to do (like pick up her toys), she usually responds with, "Ummm, I don't think so, Mom."

When I ask her a question that she doesn't want to answer, she often tells me,  "I just can't think about that right now."

On a few occasions when Reese has been "bored", she has told us, "Guess I'll just sit here and pass the time."

And, a few conversations with Emmy...

"Hi Emmy, it's Reesie. I'm your sister. I'm so glad you came out. Mom, I'm glad Emmy came out of your tummy."

While Emmy does tummy time, Reese sometimes lays on the floor next to her and says, ""Come on baby girly. You can do it!"

Reese likes to teach Emmy how to talk.  It's sweet except for the fact that she yells the following right into Emmy's ear, "Ma ma ma MAAAAAA!. Babe babe BAAAAAAA!"

Record Breaking
We have been breaking sleep records lately.  We have all gotten 8+ hours of consecutive sleep the last two nights.  We have not had this in over 3 years!  Reese (world's worst sleeper) has slept all night in her own bed, Emmy (rockstar newborn) just snoozes away in her bassinet, and Libby (killer cat) has stayed outside all night so does not scratch at our bed to wake us up.  It's glorious!

Lion King
I think I've mentioned before that Reese gets on kicks. Her current OBSESSION is the Lion King. Ever since she went to the play and was given lion, warthog, Timon?, and hyena figurines, this is the only thing she wants to play. It's been  months and I don't know how much more I can take it!

The worst part is Reese insists on telling me HOW to play Lion King. I usually have to act silly with the hyenas Ed and Bullseye (who's actual name is Bonzi, but Reese refuses to be corrected). If I go off "script" Reese yells "No!" and corrects me.

When I'm feeding Emmy, changing a diaper, making dinner, really doing anything, I hear Reese saying things like "No Scar, I am the rightful king!", "I went to the elephant graveyard even though I wasn't supposed to!", "Watch out, here come hundreds of wildebeasts!"

My favorite (ok, now the only) thing I like is when she breaks our into a Lion King song.  She gives a great performance of "I Just Can't Wait to Be King."
